Chocolate Cake
My most favorite chocolcate cake recipe is Ina Garten's chocolate cake recipe posted on FoodNetwork. It is very moist, very easy to make and the end result is divine. Because my family and friends tend to prefer a less sweet cake, I reduce the sugar by 1/3 cup. That's should do just fine. Also, instead of store bought buttermilk, I just mix one cup of whole milk with lemon juice from half of a lemon and leave it for about 10 minutes before using (yes it will curdle).
I use this recipe on every chocolate cake I made, including cupcakes. When using for cupcakes, one recipe makes about 24 cupcakes, so.... perfect! The best pair for this chocolate cake is SMB frosting. For the filling, I mix the SMB with strawberry puree. Your family, friends and guests would love this mix. Enjoy!
