Baby Shower Cupcakes
So this weekend I made a schoolhouse theme cupcakes for a baby shower. The cupcakes flavors were chocolate and lemon, but what exciting were making the decoration.
My plan was to make cupcakes toppers from fondant and modeling chocolate, in the shape of rulers, numbers, letters, apple, school bus and maybe other baby related items. Instead of making those shapes freehand, I wanted to try using molds instead. I wasn't sure how they would turn out, fortunately they came out so well, especially the blackboard.

The other shape that turned out so well was the apple, which I used mold as well. But instead of using fondant, I've used modeling chocolate so it was easier to smooth out the apple.

As for letter blocks, I used combination of free hand and cookie cutters. First I used letters cookie cutters, then two different sizes of square cookie cutters to create the borders. Then pretty much assemble the base, then the letters and finally the borders.

As for the rulers it was a lot simpler. All I did was rolled the fondant then cut rectangles to the width and lengths that I want. And for the lines, I simply used edible paint with the help of tootpicks.

Ta da.... Schoolhouse cupcakes done. I hope you enjoyed this post!
